For the Class of 1956 at East High School in Denver, Colorado
We had our 65th Class Reunion Banquet on Friday, August 27, 2021.
Where: Doubletree Hilton Cherry Creek, 455 South Colorado Blvd., Denver, Colorado
The only event we formally planned was the banquet dinner on Friday night to allow everyone the rest of the weekend to socialize, gather, and plan other events onsite or off. Classmates LeRoy Smith, Art Scott, Jayne Waller Pigford and Jo Katherine Holliman Page enhanced the evening with their donation of a 2-piece combo which added such a nice touch to the evening.
Classmate LeRoy Smith arranged for those of us interested to tour the Blair Caldwell African American Research Library in the renovated Five Points area followed by lunch at Five Points Coffee. 14 of us went on the tour which was both educational and fascinating.
Rooms at the hotel were made available at the special rate of $89/night for August 26, 27, 28 and 29 and several of our classmates took advantage of the offer which made for lots of socializing both before and after the actual banquet. It was a great opportunity to actually get reacquainted with one another.
A lovely dinner and pre-dinner social gathering was held at the Cherry Hills Country Club on Saturday evening, August 27, 2017. About 100 were in attendance.
Many of our classmates also attended private events over the weekend. East High School was open, including the Memorabilia Room and Tower, for those who wanted to visit.

Because our 65th Class Reunion is not until 2021 … the Committee decided we should celebrate our 80th birthdays. Our 80th Birthday Party was on on Fri, Aug 31, 2018, at the Lakewood Country Club, 6800 West 10th Ave., Lakewood.
It was well attended and everyone had a great time reuniting with old friends and making new ones. (We were a BIG class)
The website for East High School Class of 1956 at http://www.eastdenver56.mysite.com is no longer maintained.
Updated Lists and new content are here. Follow the link on the right to the 60th Reunion and much more. View your classmates’ Senior class pictures as they appeared in the Angelus. Most of the old website has been replicated here. We hope you like it.
On behalf of the East High Class of 1956, we thank Jack Sheff, our Class Historian, not only for setting up the original East High website, but for the effort he put into maintaining it over the years. We also wish to acknowledge his years as part of the Reunion Committee.
Jack graciously turned over the reins to our classmate Len Sher to set up and maintain a new, more navigable, website. Every effort has been made, despite a change in format, to preserve much of the pertinent information that appeared on the original website. We hope this new website is easier to navigate.
We hope you enjoy a few trips down Memory Lane as you browse through the pages of some of our past reunions, the 70th Birthday Party, and our class pages from the 1956 Angelus.
